Deceuninck – Quick-Step ready for an exciting French weekend

Ardèche Classic, a 171.3km hilly race which is very likely to be decided on one of the last two climbs (Saint-Romain de Lerps – 8.1km, 5.9% and Val d’Enfer – 1.4km, 10.8%) and Drôme Classic (176.9 kilometers), where the quick succession of hills in the last part of the course – Côte des Roberts (3.9km, 5%), Côte de Grane (1.7km, 5.6%) and Mur d’Alex (1km, 9.3%) – promise to whittle down the peloton long before the finish have all the ingredients for a spectacular weekend of racing in France.

The two races, where the Wolfpack tasted victory on several occasions, most recently last year, when Rémi Cavagna triumphed in Guilherand-Granges after an entire day spent in the break, will mark the start of the season for six of the seven Deceuninck – Quick-Step riders on the line: Andrea Bagioli, defending Ardèche Classic champion Cavagna – who returns to action after a strong Tour de la Provence – Josef Cerny, Dries Devenyns, Mikkel Honoré, James Knox and Pieter Serry.

“It’s going to be a packed weekend for our team and we are looking forward to it! Both races are hard, but at the same time beautiful, races where the action usually starts early thanks to the demanding parcours which makes it difficult for the teams to control the attackers. Our team is a mix of young and experienced riders and this gives us confidence we can be again up there when it will matter”, explained Deceuninck – Quick-Step sports director Davide Bramati.
