One of the biggest races of the year concluded with an elegant victory of Kasper Asgreen, who wrote history for the Wolfpack by becoming just the second Dane ever to conquer Flanders. The 26-year-old rode flawlessly the entire day, was in all the major moves and after six hard hours still had enough left to deliver a powerful sprint, and with it, our team’s 20th triumph in a Monument.
Sunday’s win was filled with powerful emotions and touching scenes – from the ones shown by Kasper right after the finish to those of World Champion Julian Alaphilippe, who couldn’t hide his heartfelt joy when congratulating his teammate and talking about his monumental day.
