Deceuninck – Quick-Step’s incredible Dane concluded the season in style.

Michael Mørkøv and Lasse Norman Hansen made it look easy again, storming to victory in the Madison at the Track World Championships in Roubaix and completing a fantastic treble that in the space of just twenty months saw them win two consecutive rainbow jerseys and an historic gold medal at the Olympic Games in Tokyo.

Coming into the race as the red-hot favourites, the duo lived up to their status, racking up points every time they had the opportunity and going into the hot seat. In the second part of the race, Italy managed to stage a strong comeback, getting within just one point of the lead, but Mørkøv and his countryman raised their game with 50 laps remaining and produced a composed ride that helped them increase their advantage and seal the win with a powerful final sprint.

After 200 laps, Denmark finished at the top of the standings for four points, with Italy and Belgium rounding out the podium in the Roubaix velodrome, as Michael unleashed a huge roar to celebrate another spectacular performance on the track in what will forever be an unforgettable season for the 36-year-old.
