According to Het Belang van Limburg, Limburg is seeking the chance to be the start of the 2018 Tour de France.
The 2012 Tour de France also started in Belgium, the 19th time the race has started outside of France.
Limburg is in northeast Belgium. The 2012 Tour de France began in Liege, which is just south of Limburg.
