Our team hopes for a good result next week at the 62nd edition of the Belgian one-day race.

Featuring a total of twenty climbs, Druivenkoers Overijse should witness plenty of action, with the succession of short and sharp hills promising to whittle down the peloton and make an important selection even before the final part of the 192km race, where the riders won’t have a moment of respite as they’ll tackle five hills in the space of just 22 kilometers.

Having won the last two editions, Quick-Step Alpha Vinyl will look to play again a major role Wednesday afternoon, when we will come at the start with a solid and versatile team consisting of Andrea Bagioli, Davide Ballerini, Josef Cerny, Iljo Keisse, Stijn Steels, Zdenek Stybar and neo-pro Martin Svrcek.

On the Moskesstraat, where the big attacks were launched and the peloton fragmented as direct consequence, Andrea Bagioli came very close to making it to the front group that emerged over the top and from where the day’s winner, Matis Louvel (Arkea Samsic), emerged. The Italian remained prominent in the chasing group, who missed out on catching the Frenchman for just a couple of seconds, and took a solid 13th place at the finish, a result which bodes well for his next races.
