The 70th edition of the Belgian race takes place Friday afternoon.
Consisting of 16 laps, Zwevezele Koers will be the Wolfpack’s last outing of the month, and our team is motivated to put in another strong display after the one in Textielprijs Vichte at the beginning of the week, which saw Ethan Vernon finish second following an impressive ride in the break.
The young Brit, who just last week took two victories at the Tour of Slovakia, will be joined on the start line by his fellow countryman Mark Cavendish, Tim Declercq, Iljo Keisse, Stijn Steels, Bert Van Lerberghe, Stan Van Tricht and Mauri Vansevenant.
“Lots of things are happening in a kermesse, that’s why it’s important to be up there and make sure you’re not surprised by your opponents. We have a solid team, with Mark and Ethan if it comes down to a sprint, but we can rely also on other guys who can anticipate a bit and go for their chance. Bottom line, we’ll try our best and go for a good result”, said Quick-Step Alpha Vinyl sports director Klaas Lodewyck.
