The 81st edition comes to a conclusion on the Promenade des Anglais.
Côte de Levens, Côte de Châteauneuf, Côte de Berre-les-Alpes, Côte de Peille and Col d’Èze were the five ranked climbs crammed in the 118.4 kilometers that made up the final stage of Paris-Nice.
Our team continued just in four, after both Kasper Asgreen and Tim Merlier were forced to abandon this weekend, and tried to book a place in the early breakaway, but despite a valiant effort of Rémi Cavagna, the peloton just didn’t allow a group to open a proper lead. As a result, the maximum advantage a move had at any point during the stage hovered around 30 seconds.
Just like on the previous stage, the victory was an affair between the GC favourites, and it was yellow jersey Tadej Pogacar (UAE Team Emirates) who prevailed in Nice. The same Cavagna was Soudal Quick-Step’s first man home on the stage and also in the overall standings.
