Tuesday was another good day for the Soudal Quick-Step Devo Team.

The small town of Bertem hosted the Flemish Brabant ITT Championship, and Lars Craps produced a strong and consistent ride that at the end of the day brought him his first victory of the year. Having impressed in a number of races this season – including the Quatre Jours de Dunkerque, which he rode as part of the Soudal Quick-Step squad – with the sheer amount of work put in for his teammates, Lars showed that he can also win races when being presented with the opportunity.

Hailing from Leuven, just a couple of kilometers from Bertem, the 21-year-old gave no chance to his opponents on his way to becoming the 11th different Soudal Quick-Step Devo Team rider to taste success this season, covering the 17.2km hilly course in 22:36 and taking the victory by a clear margin.

“Racing so close to my home gave me an extra boost of motivation. The parcours, with those small and rolling hills, suited me and I was able to keep the speed the entire race and do a good time trial. I am happy with my first win of the season and with the fact I could add to the squad’s impressive haul of victories”, said Lars after netting Soudal Quick-Step Devo Team’s 19th success of the year.
