The Belgian led home an impressive 1-3 of the Soudal Quick-Step Devo Team in Hel van Voerendaal.

On the same day that his teammate William Junior Lecerf finished a solid fourth overall at the Tour Alsace, Warre Vangheluwe powered to his second victory of the season, after the one he took two months ago in Gullegem Koerse, where he rode together with the World Tour team.

Warre was part of a strong breakaway at the one-day Hel van Voerendaal, a group which included three of his Soudal Quick-Step Devo teammates – Gil Gelders, Dutch Champion Pepijn Reinderink and Jonathan Vervenne – and it was from there that he attacked on the final lap, leaving everyone else behind and winning by a clear margin of more than a minute.

“I really wanted a good result today, as this was my final race before traveling to Glasgow for the World Championships, and I’m delighted that I could cap off the team’s excellent work. We rode a perfect race, we had a flawless tactic and it feels great to know I had what it took to bring the victory for the team. This gives me a lot of confidence for the Worlds”, said Warre – who was joined on the podium by Pepijn, third Sunday afternoon – after the team’s 20th win of the season.
