Soudal Quick-Step Devo Team celebrated another success on home soil.

Senne Hulsmans scored his second victory of the season, after another hectic bunch sprint. Just like in Herenthout, two months ago, the 19-year-old was the fastest at the end of the GP Jean-Pierre Monseré. Held Wednesday afternoon, the race had a 70km opening part before the peloton entered on a local circuit, which they had to cover ten times.

There, despite the numerous attacks that came, the bunch was as one going into the last kilometer, where Senne Hulsmans unleashed a huge sprint that saw him take the win by a couple of bike lengths ahead of his countrymen, Pieter Van Laer (RB Zelfbouw) and Rutger Wouters (Team Thielemans-De Hauwere).

“It feels great to come out on top here. For me, this is one of the most beautiful kermesses of the year, and after riding it last season, I really wanted to be at the start again. I came here after a strong outing in Desselgem and I’m delighted that I had the legs to bring it home for the squad”, said Senne after notching up Soudal Quick-Step Devo Team’s 27th victory of the year.
