Gert Steegmans was the top finisher in the bunch sprint finish of the 207km Tour de Wallonie Stage 4 on Tuesday, placing 7th.

Julien Vermote, meanwhile, made an early escape group and managed to stay away with one other rider until 10km remained. Vermote, who was highest in the GC going into the stage at just 46" back, was virtual leader for quite some time during the race as the gap was more than a minute until 19km remained.

Danilo Napolitano (Acqua & Sapone) won the sprint, with Davide Appollonio (Team Sky ProCycling) 2nd and Klaas Lodewyck (BMC Racing Team) 3rd.

The team looks next to the final 179km stage on Wednesday.
