The Danish company will continue providing their top of the range bottoms brackets and bearing kits to the team until the end of 2024.
Ronde van Vlaanderen and Tour de France stage winner Kasper Asgreen, and Soudal Quick-Step’s Technical and Development Manager Nicolas Coosemans recently visited CeramicSpeed’s headquarters in Holstebro Denmark, where they were able to see the research and development process that the company put in to ensure their products remain the best on the market. While visiting, an extension of the partnership that has seen both parties become the best in the world at what they do, was agreed.
Founded in 2004, CeramicSpeed has led the market development and use of ceramic bearings in cycling and for industry purposes. After discovering the technology in inline skating, they have revolutionised the way that bearings are used in cycling using NASA developed technology to produce top-grade silicon nitride ceramic balls, making them lighter and faster than traditional steel bearings.
Speaking of the agreement, Coosemans said: “We are very happy that we will continue to work with CeramicSpeed. Like us on the team, they are always striving to be better and improve. As well as providing us with their excellent products, they are always on hand to offer their help and advice, as well as talk through ideas and working practises, and we thank them for their continued support.”
Managing Director of CeramicSpeed Sport A/S, Martin Banke, is thrilled to also be working with Soudal Quick-Step in 2024: “'It’s with immense pride and with high expectations that we continue the partnership with Soudal Quick-Step in 2024. Ever since 2012, when we first began collaborating, it’s been a fantastic journey and a great pleasure working with one of the most winning cycling teams over the last years, who we think matches our standards and goals at CeramicSpeed very well. We highly value the feedback we get and the development we do together, and we can’t wait to see what the upcoming season has in store for us both.”
Besides providing the World Tour team with bottom brackets and wheel bearing kits, CeramicSpeed will also make sure that the AG Insurance – Soudal Quick-Step Women’s Team rides with OSPW’s and bottom brackets, just like the Devo Team will also be riding with CeramicSpeed bottom brackets.
The partnership between Soudal Quick-Step and CeramicSpeed was initiated in 2012 in relation to the Giro d’Italia’s first stages in Denmark, and ever since the two brands have been working closely together, making it one of the longest-running partnerships in the cycling world.
