Gerald Ciolek earned a podium spot, placing 3rd in the 157km Tour de l'Ain Stage 1 on Tuesday.
Yauheni Hutarovich (FDJ-BigMat) won the sprint, with Lucas Sebastien Haedo 2nd. A four rider break stayed away until the final kilometers, but the peloton was determined to force the bunch sprint finish.
OPQS looks next to a Stage 2 shorter stage (83.5km) in the morning, and an 11.1km team time trial in the afternoon.
