Three riders went up the road with just kilometers to go at the 156km Stage 4 of Tour de l'Ain on Friday, and they held off what was left of a 10 rider escape group all the way to the finish.

Andrew Talansky (Garmin-Sharp) won the three-up sprint, with Rafal Majka (Team Saxo Bank-Tinkoff Bank) taking 2nd and Sergio Pardilla Bellon placing 3rd.

Omega Pharma - Quick-Step Cycling Team looks next to a 132km Stage 6 on Saturday.

Dario Cataldo and Serge Pauwels crashed 60km into the stage because of erratic movement in the peloton. Both were able to continue, but Pauwels had a little pain in his right arm.
