Omega Pharma - Quick-Step Cycling Team missed out on the select group that stayed away, after attacking with less than 100km to go in the 132km final stage of Tour de l'Ain on Saturday.
Thibaut Pinot (FDJ-BigMat) won the stage solo, as the large breakaway splintered in the final 40km into groups of one and two riders. Romain Bardet (Ag2R-La Mondiale) was 2nd (+43") and Pierre Rolland (Europcar) was 3rd (+1'50").
Andrew Talanskey (Garmin-Sharp-Barracuda) won the overall. Sergio Pardilla (Movistar) finished 2nd, and Daniel Navarro (Saxo Bank-Tinkoff Bank) 3rd.
