The French neo-pro enjoyed an unforgettable outing on Italian soil.

Paul Magnier concluded an incredible week for him and the Soudal Quick-Step Devo Team by going on the podium in Forlimpopoli on the final day of the GiroNextGen, one of the most important U23 races on the calendar.

Just 20 years of age, Magnier made his debut at the U23 Giro d’Italia part of the Soudal Quick-Step Devo Team, and took a pair of stages, stamping his authority on the bunch sprints of Saint-Vincent and Borgomanero thanks to a fantastic speed and a superb team effort. Together with Andrea Raccagni, Paul formed a formidable partnership that helped him take his season tally to five victories and finish at the top of the points classification.

“It was a very good GiroNextGen for us, the team did a very good race and we can all be happy. We did our best and tried to control things whenever possible, and at the end of the day we can be proud of our effort and results. I leave the race with many beautiful memories: the teamwork, the amazing spirit we put on display the entire week, my sprint and these two victories”, Paul said on Sunday.

“From here I will travel to France for the National Championships, where I am ready to support Julian and do my best on what will be a very demanding parcours”, added Magnier, who so far this season has won five races, including two in the Soudal Quick-Step jersey – Trofeo Ses-Salines-Felanitx and stage 3 of the Tour of Oman.
