The young Slovak will be a member of the Wolfpack also next year.

Martin Svrcek has extended his contract with Soudal Quick-Step until the end of 2025, a move that came after a strong first part of the season for the 21-year-old, who got to taste victory for the first time in the team jersey, in Gullegem Koerse, at the end of May.

Hailing from Neslusa, Svrcek turned pro in the summer of 2022, and has since gradually developed under the guidance of the Soudal Quick-Step staff. Not only he contributed to many of the team’s victories, Martin also scored some impressive results on an individual level; in addition to the aforementioned win in Belgium, he took runner up-at the Nationals and a remarkable bronze at last year’s U23 World Championships, where he delivered an excellent ride en route to Slovakia’s first medal at the race in the last 16 years.

“I am very happy to continue together with this amazing squad, to whom I am incredibly grateful for their support and trust in me even when things didn’t go as I had wanted, due to injuries. I feel great here, it’s the perfect environment for me to grow and this new contract motivates me even more for the second part of this season and for the next one”, Martin said.

Soudal Quick-Step CEO Patrick Lefevere added: “Martin is a good rider and a good person, somebody who has integrated quickly in the team and has shown what he can do, while taking it one step at a time and getting accustomed to the rigors of the World Tour. We are confident he can improve a lot and show his talent – which we spotted since his junior days – in the next year and a half.”
