The two-time Belgian Champion scored our squad’s 67th top-three result of the season.
Tim Merlier racked up his 18th podium since the beginning of the year after a hectic bunch sprint in Krakow, where the 81st edition of the Tour de Pologne came to an end Sunday afternoon. One of the fastest riders in the world, victorious in more than a dozen races this season, the Belgian had the speed to fight for the win on stage seven, but unfortunately ran out of road, as Olav Kooij (Visma-Lease a Bike) took the victory.
The general classification remained unchanged after what had been a pretty straightforward day, meaning that Jonas Vingegaard kept the yellow jersey following this stage that had in the spotlight the sprinters’ teams, all keen on having a mass gallop.
Following the week spent in Poland, Soudal Quick-Step sits on 27 wins scored by seven different riders since the start of the season, and cemented its place just outside the podium of the UCI World Team Classification.
