Omega Pharma - Quick-Step Cycling Team chased down every attack in the final kilometers, and Andy Fenn even got into a late kilometer escape group, in an attempt for a stage victory at the 190km Stage 1 of Tour of Denmark on Wednesday.

However, there was a crash toward the back of the peloton heading in the final kilometers, and no OPQS rider was able to contest the sprint. Andre Greipel (Lotto-Belisol) won the sprint, with Alexander Kristoff (Katusha Team) taking 2nd and Theo Bos (Rabobank Cycling Team) placing 3rd.

A four rider break was brought back with 11km to go in the stage.
