Omega Pharma - Quick-Step Cycling Team did what it could to bring back a key breakaway that looked like a lone rider, Jelle Wallays (Topsport Vlaanderen - Mercator), might stay away as he had a 5" gap in the final kilometer.
The peloton eventually caught Wallays to set up the bunch sprint. However, it was Andre Greipel (Lotto-Belisol) who took his 2nd stage win in a row at the 210km Stage of Tour of Denmark, securing the leader's jersey once again. Michael van Staeyen (Topsport Vlaanderen - Mercator) was 2nd. Steele von Hoff was 3rd. OPQS rider Tom Boonen was 7th.
OPQS also pushed the tempo when crosswinds hit the riders, forcing a peloton split and reducing the front group to about 80 riders at one point in the stage.
OPQS looks next to a 185km stage on Friday, which features more hills than the first two stages.
