Omega Pharma - Quick-Step Cycling Team rider Tom Boonen saw another chance for potential victory in the last kilometers of the 185km Tour of Denmark Stage 3 on Friday, getting about 5" on the field with less than 5km to go. However, the peloton, who reeled in a four rider break earlier in the stage and was not letting anything else go, reeled the attack in to prepare for a field sprint. While riders continued to try to attack with 2km to go, the field scramble to the line was inevitable.

Boonen also bridged to a late attack by Manuele Boaro of (Team Saxo Bank-Tinkoff Bank) in the last kilometers, but the move was overtaken in the final meters by several riders.

Lars-Petter Nordhaug (Sky ProCycling) won the stage, with Wilco Kelderman taking 2nd for Rabobank and Ramunas navardauskas (Garmin-Sharp) placing 3rd. Boonen was the top finisher for #OPQS, in 28th place (+13").

OPQS looks next to a 90km stage on Saturday.
