The enigmatic Frenchman joined the team this winter and he sat down with us in our hotel lobby ahead of the Ardèche and Drôme one-day races this weekend.
Valentin, who earlier this month took his first victory for the squad in Oman, talked about the welcome he has received by the ever-growing Wolfpack family, gave some fascinating insight into why he feels is a better stage race rider than a one-day racer, and what winning a stage at last year’s Giro d’Italia meant to him, as well as how he has looked up to many of Soudal Quick-Step’s star names, both past and present.
