First top ten since 2021 for our team at the Italian World Tour race.
Soudal Quick-Step concluded this year’s edition of the “Race of the Two Seas” with two riders in the top ten: Mikel Landa, who was seventh in San Benedetto del Tronto thanks to his solid outing on the hard Frontignano, and Mattia Cattaneo, the Italian who started off the week by putting together a nice individual time trial on his way to tenth on the general classification.
For Mikel, this was the fifth time in his career that he made his way in the top ten of Tirreno-Adriatico, an encouraging start to the season for the experienced Basque, whose next appointment will be Volta a Catalunya – a race he concluded runner-up last year and which comes with three summit finishes at the edition scheduled to start in a week.
Thanks to the points scored by the two, Soudal Quick-Step should move up a couple of positions in the UCI World Team Classification ahead of the season’s first Monument, Milano-Sanremo.
