Belgian company specialising in water treatment and Soudal Quick-Step come together to highlight the importance of water and water recycling
Soudal Quick-Step have teamed up with its partners Ekopak to design a special water themed jersey, which the team will wear at Nokere Koerse on 19th March, prior to the Belgian Water Week that takes place from March 22 to 30.
Ekopak are the experts in water and wastewater management helping companies to reduce the amount of water they consume through implementing innovative recycling solutions that help the environment that is the stadium in which our riders perform.
To celebrate the opening of Ekopak’s new facility in Deinze later this month and to highlight their work in reducing and optimising water consumption, they have collaborated with our team and our partners at Castelli to design this special water themed jersey. Our team will race in this new outfit exclusively at Nokere Koerse, which passes very close to their new facility, and we hope that as Leonardo da Vinci said ‘Water is the driving force of nature’, will give them an extra push that day.
Speaking of the event, Pieter Loose, CEO of Ekopak, said: “At Ekopak, we believe water is a precious resource that must be managed responsibly. Through this collaboration with Soudal Quick-Step and Castelli, we can further raise awareness on this topic. With World Water Day approaching this month, the timing is now perfect to put this water-themed jersey upfront!”
He was joined by Soudal Quick-Step CEO Jurgen Foré, who said: “We have been delighted and excited to work with Ekopak on this project. Through our #ItStartsWithUs project, we too strongly believe in sustainability both with water and the resources that we use within our team. We will be proud to wear this eye-catching jersey at Nokere Koerse to highlight the importance of saving water and creating a better future for the next generations.”
