Omega Pharma - Quick-Step Cycling Team rider Tom Boonen was selected as the best Belgian rider at the 2012 Flandrian Awards on Tuesday.
Boonen has won this prestigious award three times in his career (2004, 2005, 2012) — an award chosen by his fellow riders in the pro peloton.
"I'm really happy," Boonen said. "It's important for me that this prize comes from the votes of my colleagues. It was a great year for me but it was also a great year for Belgian cycling. I'm proud about it."
