The last track session for the OPQS team was held today at the Vlaams Wielercentrum Eddy Merckx. The staff of the team were really in favour of this important experience, which brought many riders of the team into rotation to train on a track, combining work on the bicycles and fitness training sessions at the gym.

"This was definitely a good experience," said Tom Steels. "We've been working here for about six weeks, and compared to the beginning, our guys' pedal pushing has improved a lot. They got used to the track thanks to Iljo Keisse's advice as well. There was a good combination of fitness and track exercises. The guys had fun and found this activity to be very useful. For example, even today it's snowing in Belgium. Our Belgian guys are practically all here! It's really useful for consolidating the group."

The training camp scheduled for next week in Mallorca will mark the end of the track experience.

"Starting next week we will be working exclusively on the road," says Steels. "For this year I can say that our group experience on the track can be considered concluded. The track training will continue during the season, but more on an individual basis. Now it's time to pedal outdoors, under the Mallorcan sun."
