The Omega Pharma – Quick-Step Cycling Team riders will be in Mallorca for the first training camp of the season. The riders will arrive at the campsite today, and as of tomorrow, they will be busy at work under close supervision by the team's technical staff.
"We'll be working in three groups," Tom Steels said. "The first one will be made up of riders who will be going to Australia, who have to perform specific workouts that focus on rhythm more than the others. We will also be working on fine tuning our sprint trains to get back into the swing, and then we'll be making the most of the situation to spend some time together and work on the time trial with our Specialized bikes. Anyway, overall, we still have basic work to do."
Following tradition, the camp will also be an important forum for athletes to work out their schedules, undergo some evaluation tests and, last but not least, to pose for official 2013 season photos. All team members will be participating in the training camp.
