Race organizer ASO confirmed the 2012 Paris-Nice route today. Omega Pharma - Quick-Step Cycling Team rider Tony Martin will be there to defend his 2011 title. The route will likely play to his favor: the race includes a flat, 9.4 km beginning stage, and an uphill 9.6 km finishing time trial. Other lead riders for the team will be Tom Boonen, Sylvain Chavanel, and Levi Leipheimer. Leipheimer, fresh off his overall win at Tour de San Luis, said after the race that Paris-Nice is his next target. He's giving himself time to recover and train until Paris-Nice begins on March 4, 2012.
