A new adventure started today for the Omega Pharma - Quick-Step Cycling Team with Le Tour de Langkawi. The first stage was suited for the sprinters.

A group of three riders animated the stage. They opened up a gap of almost 10 minutes, but the peloton calculated well and reeled the escapees in with 10 kilometres to go. The last 10 kilometres went very fast. Several teams were battling for a good position in the front of the peloton, including OPQS.

Theo Bos (Blanco) outsprinted Bryan Coquard (Europcar) and Andrea Guardini (Astana), winning the first stage. Andy Fenn tried to participate in the final sprint, but didn`t finish in the top-10. The young OPQS rider finished 11th.
