Omega Pharma - Quick-Step Cycling Team sprinter Andrew Fenn put down another great ride in the 8th stage of Le Tour de Langkawi. After 164,5 kilometres the stage finished in a bunch sprint with Fenn taking 2nd place.
After a fast start of the stage two riders escaped. Low Ji Wen (OCBC) and Liu Jianpeng (Hengxiang) opened up a gap of almost 11 minutes, still not enough to stay away. The peloton accelerated and closed the gap in the final 10 kilometres. The pace was really high in the final kilometres as the field strung out completely.
Andrew Fenn managed to gain a good position for the sprint in the final kilometre. Bryan Coquard (Europcar) launched the sprint with 200 metres to go and took the stage win. Fenn was close and battled for 2nd place with Francesco Chicchi (Vini Fantini). He just beat his former team mate taking 2nd place.
