The most Flemish of the non-Flemish riders, Sylvain Chavanel is also one of the most loved riders to have sported the Deceuninck – Quick-Step jersey. During his five years with the team – by far, the most successful period of his career – he impressed with his work ethic, panache and huge contribution to the squad’s success, that are treasured even today, long after his retirement.
