Biography
Unanimously considered by his teammates as the funniest rider on the squad, “Serrytje” continued to show himself and prove his amazing consistency in his twelfth year with Soudal Quick-Step, putting in impressive displays on some of the biggest races in the world, such as the Itzulia Basque Country and the Giro d’Italia, at the latter making his 16th Grand Tour appearance – an impressive milestone for the 36-year-old.
Motivated and determined, Pieter is now the longest-serving member on our squad and he plans to continue giving his best every single time while sharing his experience with the younger riders in the team: “I love being part of Soudal Quick-Step, and every time I pull on this jersey, I feel an immense pride. I always try to give everything, both in training and in races, but at the same time, I like helping the team when it needs me and guiding the new guys as they begin learning the trade. I start this year with the same motivation as in the past and desire to do my best so that this amazing squad remains one of the best in the world.”
