Biography of Dirk

Experienced mechanic Dirk has now been working in professional cycling for 35 years and has made a decision: “I think now I fully surrender to it!”, he said with a grin.

Born in Oostende, Dirk was a cyclist himself, but a heavy traffic accident meant that he would no longer continue his career. In the team he was riding, Dirk had made a number of contacts within the sport, which meant that he was soon able to find a job as a mechanic. Dirk was worked with Soudal Quick-Step for 12 years now. He describes his work as his hobby and vice versa, but he also enjoys travelling with his partner and relaxing.
