Biography of Marc
Marc started his career in sports as a footballer, which he played until his was 15. He describes cycling as ‘slowly’ becoming his main love in life, when his brother started racing in their home town of Mechelen.
Patry would go on to have a decent career, racing as a professional from 1994 to 1996 and continuing as an amateur from 1997 until 2000. While an amateur in 2008, Marc was asked to help the young riders of a development squad being setup by current Quick-Step Alpha Vinyl CEO Patrick Lefevere, where he would learn the art of sports massage. As his skills and roles developed, he was asked to also work with the main squad for 25 – 30 days per year and which led to him getting a full-time role in 2004.
Marc is one of a number of team members and staff to have a musical talent, however he could be the only one to play a trumpet and a Euphonium in a harmony.
