Biography of Martijn

Husband of Marlisa and proud father of Yara, Martijn is in his 15th season with the team, making him one of the oldest members of the Wolfpack. Martijn is more than just our Dutch Content Manager, he’s also the go-to guy whenever we encounter a technical glitch, knowing he is always there to help and has an answer which could get us out of trouble and instill calm.

Some of his fondest memories since 2009 – the year he joined Quick-Step Alpha Vinyl – are the unique and beautiful moments he got to enjoy together with the team in Utrecht and Apeldoorn, hosts of the 2015 Tour de France and 2016 Giro d’Italia starts, respectively.

“It is a real honour to work for such a big team. When I started watching cycling, I didn’t think I would end up in a world class team. This squad is like a family, and although I am almost never at the race, I always feel part of the team. The daily and intense contact with my communication colleagues makes them feel like family. I also like the hectic nature and flexibility of the cycling world. There’s never a dull moment and you always have to perform at top level.”
